The LuxPad spoke to designer bloggers and interior experts to get their top tips and advice on bedroom styles that will look great and provide you with the relaxing haven that you need. Admittedly, only a lucky few can call an ocean front bedroom their own. However, this bedroom is not just about the view. In my opinion it perfectly interprets what I call the key elements of successful bedroom design: clean lines and uncluttered surfaces in combination with warm materials, rich textures and soothing colours. Add a few pools of light and you got yourself the perfect recipe for a cosy haven of relaxation. In this particular bedroom they took it a further notch up by adding the element of fire, creating a truly harmonious environment and perfect balance. My bedroom is where I go to unwind and read and it’s important that the space correlates with my wellbeing and mood. I adore neutral coloured bedrooms, with delicate pieces of furniture and accessories. Lighting and the ambience it provides is really important and I do recommend up to three different lighting focal points within a room, ranging from ceiling lights to bedside lamps. It’s also fun to play with a variety of different lightbulbs so that you can have a choice of whether to have a bright light on or something softer to suit your mood. Cushions and throws add character to a bedroom and provide different levels of texture which can make a room fabulous. I’m very fond of shabby chic furniture in a bedroom because it conveys a very romantic Parisian flair. With the correct accessories and a delicate neutral palette a glamorous shabby chic bedroom can be achieved and fabulously lived in. Image credit  Get the look Helen Moore Faux Fur Throw AERIN Morton Table Lamp – Crystal Normann Copenhagen Ace Lounge Chair Velour Rebecca Formosso, Interior Blogger This is the guest bedroom at a client’s penthouse in the centre of Barcelona. I love the colour scheme and all the fabrics used. It feels like you’re on a holiday in a beautiful hotel when you’re in this bedroom. It has an en-suite with a double shower so that you can shower at the same time as your partner, I thought this would be romantic. The velvet, the suede, the silk, the divine fabrics and tones used in this bedroom are an entire world of calming, soothing, touchy feely goodness. It’s also a deluxe combination. To me It’s a winner. Image credit

Kiran Singh, Interior Designer I have always been very fond of vintage style – purely because of the character it brings to the room. What I love most about this room is first of all the white floor – very Scandinavian, the fireplace, the bed and last but not least; the floral bedding and curtains – adding life to the room. I can be here all day long, only thing that’s missing are French doors that open out to a cute balcony! Image credit Claire Price, Interior Blogger My ideal bedroom would have a Parisienne feel to it because, like Audrey Hepburn said, “Paris is always a good idea”. Bedrooms are a great place to enjoy wallpaper, adding a cocooning layer of luxury and texture, but always be careful not to go too matchy matchy with the accessories. My golden rule is to offset any girlyness with bolder edge, such as the contrast print curtains and this pop art print above the romantic French bedstead. I love to use lots of mirrors and pretty chandeliers for a bit of boudoir effect and although I want to play with colour pops, I prefer a light or muted colour palette that never feels too drab or heavy.  Image credit Sophie Bush, Interior Blogger This beautiful soft industrial bedroom featured on the cover of the launch issue of Warehouse Home – and it’s been proving very popular! The original features of a warehouse conversion, such as exposed brickwork, can often feel ‘hard’ and ‘masculine’. Old and new steel furniture is especially striking in such spaces but can also feel cold. When styling the Warehouse Home bedroom (above), we wanted to prove that industrial chic can have a soft side. A bespoke galvanised steel pipe bed, designed exclusively for Warehouse Home by Inspirit Deco, was the focal point of our warehouse bedroom. And beside it, a vintage industrial bedside cabinet. We then used a ‘masculine and feminine’ palette of greys and blush pinks and a variety of textured fabrics (linen, tweed, velvet), to bring warmth to our bedroom and soften the industrial look. Select vintage accessories complemented the warehouse conversion’s heritage features, while flowers and decorative vintage glassware further enhanced the “femininity” of the space. Image credit

Sam Fernley, Interior Blogger I adore white painted walls and then really experimenting with pattern and colour in the soft furnishings and bedroom accessories. Floral patterns are always a favourite of mine for a feminine look and the brighter the colours the better. The informal group of pretty postcards fixed with washi tape is super cute and I like being able to easily change the display to suit my mood and the season. The look is a little bit granny chic so suits my love of hunting for eclectic items in charity shops. Even on a dull day this bedroom would cheer me up. Image credit Emily May, Interior Blogger This bedroom by Samantha Pynn is my dream bedroom! The soft colour palette with the simple design gives this room such a relaxing feel, while the blue floral ceramic stool and pillows add another dimension to the room, and keep it from feeling too soft. The sheer curtains let in lots of light, keeping the room lovely and bright. This would be the perfect bedroom to while away a Sunday morning – I would never want to leave!! Image credit

Agatha Kruk, Interior Blogger The bedroom is a place when you should be able to relax, rest and sleep well. The space therefore should be simple, clean and uncluttered. Ban all the unnecessary items and focus on the essentials – comfy pillows, soft bedding, good light for reading, and small bedside table to keep your books and water carafe. Create a space where you can rest your eyes and calm your mind, and it means white walls and no busy patterns. I am drawn to this bedroom because of the colour palette – all in soft brown tones. There is a feeling of calm and the crumpled linen looks very inviting. The only decoration it needs is a single artwork on the wall. The beauty here is in simplicity. Image credit Martyn White, Interior Designer This is my ideal bedroom style, I love the use of soft and subtle tones with small injections of colour such as the yellow used in bedside accessory bowl and the brass used on those gorgeous twin wall lamps. Whilst the room is light, with a large window, the space is warm and welcoming with the help of a plush throw, soft sheets and a complementing headboard to the bed.  Image credit Kati Suard, Interior Designer In this guest bedroom, I wanted to create a fresh, but calm atmosphere. I’m a big believer that “less is more”, so I kept the styling to the minimum. White walls and crisp black and white bed linen give an airy feel to the room. The photos on top of the bed add a splash of colour that I believe is needed in every room. Yet the colours are not too vibrant to break the tranquil atmosphere. Colour and wooden details soften the overall look and make the room more inviting. All in all, it’s a bedroom in very Scandinavian style: minimalist and relaxed, made for living. Image credit Elegant Bedrooms Maxine Brady, Interior Blogger When decorating my own home, my furniture picks have been dictated by my shoestring budget. This hasn’t stopped me having big ideas for my bedroom. I’ve just had to be style savvy – picking up vintage finds for next to nothing. I always start with a soft greys painted walls, then – my tip – is to painted all my furniture in the same colour so they match – helpful when you are dressing your room with higgledy-piggledy junk shop finds. I’m not adverse to modern designs, in fact I think they are key to stopping a budget home looking to retro or fuddy-duddy. That is why I love statement lighting as it brings a modern twist to an eclectic look.  The best bit about doing up a vintage home is these purchases don’t break the bank, and with a bit of hard work can look amazing. And if you tire of it, you can sell it and buy something new – this suits me down to the ground as my bedroom style is always changing. Image credit
